Christmas Party 2007
Post Party Greetings!

If you managed to get to our 2007 Holiday party at Tom & Jane Smith's
carriage house, I think you'll agree that it was a delightful evening that
properly assaulted all of our major senses with great foods, sparkling
conversation, and visual excitement amidst the wonderful decorations and
cars that the venue provides.

OUR COLLECTIVE THANKS TO TOM & JANE FOR  ALLOWING US TO ONCE AGAIN INVADE
THEIR LOVELY ESTATE AT THE HOLIDAY SEASON!

We had about 70 folks scattered about the property for most of the
evening....there was an upstairs contingent that was somewhat elusive as
they mostly surfaced in search of food and wine before retiring to the
"lounge"! What a great place for a party! As best I could gauge, the
revellers were mostly orderly and no damage was apparent from our mingling
with Tom's Jags, Cobras, Aston Martins.....etc!

While I (stupidly!!!!) forgot to bring a camera to record the event, I did
manage to bring the 2007 Car Show video shot by Fred Brunt of
Murfreesboro.....and Tom (graciously....of course) had the Vid running on
his TV in the party room for most of the evening. You may remember Fred at
our show with a "large" video camera recording our event for a sick friend.
Well he did a terrific job and he shared it w/us so we could enjoy "2" great
events together at our party!

So,  basically I'm feeling pretty good about being part of a club that has
such an easy time being fun and friendly when we get together. For those who
made time to attend, brought such great vittles, and contributed to the
charitable Harding Road Home.....and to those who couldn't make it.......I
say:
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND.....HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!

Here is what one member did to decorate his home for the holidays:

We moved into our neighborhood a year ago and when we moved in we had no idea how serious our street gets about x-mass decorating so this year we did not want to go over the top but we did want to do something interesting. Thanks to an idea from Catherine Greene we had a hit this year to add to our outdoor decorations. She recommended taking Debby’s Red 55 MG and getting a Santa Claus along with some wrapped presents then parking the car at the end of our driveway to add to the rest of the lights.

We improvised a little because we had a difficult time finding a life size Santa (well that was not $1000 plus and that would fit into the MG) . We did come across an inflatable Santa Mickey Mouse that fit the car great then we added some lighted gift boxes to sit on the cock pit cover next to him. We parked it in our driveway with a spot light then things got crazy. We created quite a traffic jam every time we put the car out. I can not believe how many people slow down to look, stop for a while and many are even get out to take their picture with Santa Mickey and the car.

It has been a blast watching the excitement and helping to add some smiles to those that have stopped by.
Here are some night time and day time pics:
