NBCC Annual Meeting Car Show: Meeting ended at 3pm
January 15, 2011
Meeting came to order at 2pm sharp with everyone eating during meeting.
39 Members signed in for attendence.
Mike started off with making a motion for Tara not to read last years meetings minutes due to they were from 2009. Curt Curtiss second the motion.
A special thank you went out to Carl George for the Christmas Party location.
Thank you for some of our new members that come to the meeting.
Financials:
O started with the Financials for the club & we are in far better shape than last year. A big thank you went out to Paul & Wanda Thompson for bringing in $2,625.00 in sponsorships for the car show. 2010 Car Show cost more than any other car show we have had in the past. WO said we only made about a $200.00 profit. We will still continue to collect the same amount for annual dues this year.
A big thank you went out to Debby Curtiss, Curt Curtiss, Glenn Schnittke, Ray McCrary, & everyone else who gave their all on 2010 car show. 2011 will again be at Centennial Park, but nothing will be final until the park makes the decision in February. If all goes well the car show will fall on the weekend of October 8, 2011. Dave Leonard, who did alot of advertising for 2010 car show, was interested in if anyone had heard about our show thru any of his advertising contacts. Mike had a great idea to add that question to the 2011 Car Show flyer. Frank Luther requested when we get a final answer from the parks department in February to have the 2011 Car Show flyer printed immediately and given out to members so we can hand them out at summer and fall car shows to help advertise. Debby & Curt Curtiss this coming year are unable to be on the Car Show Commitee for 2011. Matt Carden was voted in for replacement & Andy Adams will help him. Glenn Schnittke mentioned for this years car show to invited The Vanderbilt Motor Club to display a project car they have done at free registration. Everyone liked the idea.
Member at Large:
Barbara Nist requested to step down for the mean time as member at large & let someone else take her place. Curt Curtiss volunteered Paul Thompson & Carol Long second the motion while everyone agreed with excitement.
Car Show Reception:
This coming year Ann Luther has requested for someone else to handle the 2011 Reception for the Car Show. She has been handling that job for about 4 years & has done a great job on each reception! We thank her. Tara Simmons volunteered to take on the duty for her. Ann Luther & Carol Long said they would help me out in any way. Debby Curtiss also suggested that Tatiana Jauregui mentioned helping as well.
Car Show Charity:
Catherine Greene had the members vote on staying with 2nd Harvest Food as the Car Show Charity. All hands were raised for 2nd Harvest Food.
Future Show Events:
Mike Massieu explained the Kars for Kids is still doing $100.00 for 3 classes. The money goes to the kids. The show will be April 16, 2011 at the Brentwood Campus. Plus, this year will be the 100th anniversary of the Campus & if we know anyone who has a 100 year old car to display & the registration will be free. We will sponsor a set of three classes this year.
Jeff Lane shared with us that the Fiat Club has a big show in Nashville this year & it's the 75th anniversary of the Fiat 500.
JD Damon also shared that he received a phone call that Sunbean Club wanted to join our Car Show in 2012 if possible. Everyone was excited for that.
