We have put together a group of ardent supporters here in Hohenwald including the Lewis County Mayor Ken Turnbow.
We also have a site for the event with a large building (60x50) on 22 acres of land with ladies and gents bog in the building.
The idea is to combine not only Nashville British Car Club but also the various other British Car Clubs in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and around.
It would be a staggered start from Bellevue round about 10.30am on the 27th of September. Others would join on the way down from Franklin, Leipers Fork, Columbia wherever, all heading South, but at the same time other drivers from other clubs would leave from say Tupolo and Natchez and head North with others joining on the way up,meeting at the Meriwether Lewis Grave and memorial East of Hohenwald round about 12 mid-day to 1 o'clock.
We would do a circuit of the memorial and grave site then head into Hohenwald for an English tea party.
We have a number of business's already committed to put up prizes for Best of Class, and Best of Show.
We also have the Amish ladies who have said they would provide some of the food. They of course would arrive on their horse and carts as the always do, but we are also going to do fish and chips, real Cornish Pasties, cucumber sandwiches, and maybe a beef curry and a real live band.
So it promises to be a great day out.
2009 is the 200th anniversary celebrations for Meriwether Lewis (Lewis & Clark) so this would be a great rehearsal for the following year and what could only be hoped as a major annual British Car event in the US.
